Thinking about the future of your business? Start with understanding its true value
Selling a business, passing it on, or stepping back is never just a transaction. It is a deeply personal process.
At Dains Ireland Corporate Finance, we understand this because we have been through it ourselves. Our Irish team has faced the same decisions many of our clients now face. We have weighed offers, understood the numbers in detail, and made choices that shaped the years ahead.
We know what it feels like to sit on your side of the table. The questions, the doubts, the excitement, and the weight of responsibility are familiar to us. That lived experience means we approach every conversation with empathy, clarity, and a genuine focus on your priorities.
How We Help Owner-Managers in Ireland
We work with owner-managed businesses throughout Ireland to help you:
- Value your business with accuracy and context
- Plan for succession in a way that works for you, your family, and your team
- Sell part or all of your business with confidence and the right preparation
- Consider a management buy-out or other strategic change
We support businesses in engineering, manufacturing, construction, property, retail, food production, healthcare, veterinary, hospitality, logistics, and professional services. Whether you are years away from a potential exit or already exploring your options, it is never too early to start planning.
Why Choose Dains
First-hand experience
Our Irish corporate finance team has sold part of our own firm. We know exactly what that process feels like.
Proven track record
We have decades of experience across Ireland and the UK, advising businesses from €1 million to €100 million in value.
Human and commercial
We focus on both the numbers and the human realities of the process.
Local and connected
We are based in Ireland and also benefit from the reach and expertise of the wider Dains network in the UK.
Owner-Manager Sentiment Survey – Have Your Say
We are inviting business owners across Ireland to take part in our national Owner-Manager Sentiment Survey. This short, confidential survey is designed to capture the real experiences and perspectives of those who have valued, sold, or passed on their business, as well as those who are starting to think about it.
By taking part, you will help us build a clear and honest picture of what this journey is really like. The findings will be shared in a free report for the business community, offering valuable insights to help other owners prepare for their own decisions.
Case Studies, Anonymised for Confidentiality
Engineering Firm with International Clients
Sector: Engineering and Manufacturing | Value: €8.5m
A family-owned business was facing the founder’s retirement and needed a succession plan that would protect jobs and preserve the company’s reputation. We structured a management buy-out with staged payments, allowing the owner to step back gradually while retaining a minority stake.
Multi-Location Retailer
Sector: Retail and E-Commerce | Value: €15m
A competitor approached this retailer unexpectedly, giving them little time to decide. We negotiated improved terms and a favourable payment schedule while protecting brand identity and the jobs of 120 staff.
Regional Hospitality Group
Sector: Hospitality and Hotels | Value: €12m
After the pandemic, this group needed a buyer who understood their market and vision. We secured a strategic buyer, preserved more than 80 jobs, and obtained growth funding to expand into new locations.
